DIY design wall

Ok....technically, this tutorial says it's a homemade outdoor movie screen.
But, what if it gets covered or draped with batting or flannel?
It could be made any size, and easily taken apart for storage or washing.

Yes, very nifty idea for a design wall.

Good idea.

I just use the back of a Dollar Store vinyl table cloth. It is a felt-like material and works great and it's cheap. Try to make sure the pattern on the tablecloth itself is quite light so it doesn't show through.

This is a very nifty idea and would be great for me as my landlady doesn't want a lot of holes put in the wall. Thanks for the link.

I made a PVC design wall after seeing those movie screens and photo backdrop frames on Pinterest. Had to modify a bit. My issue at the time was that with it straight up and down, the blocks did not cling to the "wall". I had to add a foot to the front to tip it back a bit. Also put cross bars in the center as mine was 5 feet by 5 feet and the center was to wobbly to work with quilt blocks. Also I had used a flannel backed vinyl tablecloth I got from Kohls on clearance. It was too thin and the design on the vinyl showed through. Added a flannel sheet to (also on clearance from Kohls) and it works perfectly. Put up and take down as needed, made a drawstring bag to hold the pieces, and it stores away when not needed.
