My friend just sent me a tool "kwik klip" tool that you use to close and open the safety pins whle you are basting your quilt?
I was wondering if anyone has this tool? also I found a video here for us to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6MD1H62_R4 |

Yes I have it and I use it with the curved pins. I don't use the little plastic doohickey that comes with it, tho. It really works great I think.
thanks, I will go to town and buy the curve safety pins, thanks again

I was wondering if anyone has this tool? also I found a video here for us to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6MD1H62_R4 I have always pin basted my quilts and my fingers would get so sore. But with this handy little tool, it is super simple, and I actually think it goes a little bit faster. One of my better investments, to be sure. |
Yep! Everything the others said is true.
My quilty friend uses it with and without the plastic do-hicky things on the pins..she loves it.
me on the other hand, have not taken the time to learn to use it properly and stick with it..! |
I have one and use it every time I pin my quilts. I love it.
I use it all the time and it sure saves my fingers. I like the curved pins, but not the little plastic thingy.
Yes, I use mine too. It's a great tool to save your fingers from getting sore when pin basting.
I use it with just regular pins, works great! You can also just use an old spoon that you don't care about scratching.
I use it and really like it.

cool, thanks so do you like straight pins or curved pins, and what size?
I use my Kwik Klip tool with curvy 1 1/2 inch (maybe) pins every time I pin! It has really saved my fingers! I also place a marble under the taped-down backing fabric to help make sure I get all three layers pinned. Without gouging the table.
Yes and love it.
I use a spoon. It works just fine.
Hi , I always use my "doofer" for pinning and unpinning. -
couldnt live without it! |
how do you use a spoon for pinning?
A friend of mine has mentioned using one but I never have and was just looking at it Sunday at JoAnn's but didn't buy one as I had no clue how they would work. Thank you for the visual tutorial. Next time I go, if they have one, think I'll pick one up as I do use a lot of pins to baste my quilt.
Thank you. |
