Yes I have it and I use it with the curved pins. I don't use the little plastic doohickey that comes with it, tho. It really works great I think.

craftybear 05-24-2010 07:48 PM

thanks, I will go to town and buy the curve safety pins, thanks again

I have one and I love it!

I have always pin basted my quilts and my fingers would get so sore. But with this handy little tool, it is super simple, and I actually think it goes a little bit faster.

One of my better investments, to be sure.

fabric-holic 05-25-2010 01:59 AM

Yep! Everything the others said is true.

watterstide 05-25-2010 02:29 AM

My quilty friend uses it with and without the plastic do-hicky things on the pins..she loves it.

me on the other hand, have not taken the time to learn to use it properly and stick with it..!

adudek 05-25-2010 05:43 AM

I have one and use it every time I pin my quilts. I love it.

grammyp 05-25-2010 05:51 AM

I use it all the time and it sure saves my fingers. I like the curved pins, but not the little plastic thingy.

ShowMama 05-25-2010 06:31 AM

Yes, I use mine too. It's a great tool to save your fingers from getting sore when pin basting.

thimblebug6000 05-25-2010 06:57 AM

I use it with just regular pins, works great! You can also just use an old spoon that you don't care about scratching.

mamaw 05-25-2010 07:38 AM

I use it and really like it.

cool, thanks so do you like straight pins or curved pins, and what size?

stillwaters 05-25-2010 09:21 AM

I use my Kwik Klip tool with curvy 1 1/2 inch (maybe) pins every time I pin! It has really saved my fingers! I also place a marble under the taped-down backing fabric to help make sure I get all three layers pinned. Without gouging the table.

Dkm 05-25-2010 12:34 PM

Yes and love it.

lass 05-25-2010 12:41 PM

I use a spoon. It works just fine.

quiltykiwi 05-25-2010 05:12 PM

Hi , I always use my "doofer" for pinning and unpinning. -

couldnt live without it!

4dogs 05-25-2010 07:18 PM

how do you use a spoon for pinning?

grammypatty7 05-26-2010 12:06 PM

A friend of mine has mentioned using one but I never have and was just looking at it Sunday at JoAnn's but didn't buy one as I had no clue how they would work. Thank you for the visual tutorial. Next time I go, if they have one, think I'll pick one up as I do use a lot of pins to baste my quilt.
Thank you.

I've heard that a grapefruit spoon works well for pinning. They have some little serrations on the end to cut the grapefruit sections away from the skin. You would lift the end of the pin up with this area of the spoon. The serrations would serve the same purpose as the grooves on the Kwik Klip.

good tip, thanks!

I, too, just use straight pins, and the 'kwik klip'...works just as well as with curved pins.

I just found this ladies blog and she demonstrates using a spoon
