double fold binding
I haven't seen any messages from Shelly Rodgers for several months now ( The pirate) but I found in my printed out down loads instructions for the joining of double fold binding.I have always been nervous to try it, but today I did ---- wow her photographs and instructions were so clear and made it all so easy.I will now do it no other way.I have emailed her to thank her but the address was from 2008 but if she still connects to this forum, THANK YOU !, Letty x :D
this is a link to the technique Letty was referring to http://pir8.freeservers.com/quilting...-fold-binding/
she is also on the about dot com forum. has been for many, many years. very helpful.

this is an Excellent! tutorial with great pictures. the mistake i always make is with step 6. i'm going to have to pin this one on my wall LOL
Step 6 always gets me, too. I generally do it wrong once, so I've gotten in the habit of sewing it with basting stitches first. If by some miracle it's right, I just shorten my stitch and sew it again.
I do mine similar. For those that get stuck on number 6 - try glue basting it. Fold/press the end into a triangle, tuck the other end in, glue baste it. Press it, then open and sew it on the crease.
I always do binding with this technique. Very neat and tidy look when done. I found it in the Ultimate Quilters Guide book. Which I refer to all the time.

I love this technic.

Thanks for the "binding joining " post. I have seen this described before but not in such an easily understood format. Have downloaded it from her website and will try it soon.
