1185.00 8 days on the Royal Caribeans's Freedom of the Seas.

877-887-1188

They take payments and have non-quilter rates too

This is priced great and I am planning on doing it myself.

Hope others might get to join me.Can you imagine being on a ship 8 days with Eleanor Burns. I am so there.

Grama Lehr 11-10-2010 08:44 AM

Debbie, where is the cruise going??

klgreene 11-10-2010 09:46 AM

Oh, I wish I could do that. But my next trip is to see my DGD's.

NorBanaquilts 11-10-2010 09:51 AM

OMG, that would be so much fun!

debbieumphress 11-10-2010 11:19 AM

Port Canaveral - Cococav, St. Thomas, St. Marten
If your spouse goes, there is a non-quilter price. I will post more when I call to book me. YOu can start making payments now. Wahoooooo.

debbieumphress 11-10-2010 11:28 AM

OK. I just called and here is the scoop:
YOu call Sewmanyplaces and book a spot on the cruise.
It leaves out of Port Canveral Florida - You can get there yourselves or they charge 35.00 to book a flight for you.
Cost is 1185.00 and you deposit 100.00 and then they will take 100.0 a month out of your account until June 15th 2011 and then the final amount is due. YOu can also request they take out a larger payment if you like.
Then July they send you all the info, your package for the cruise with all the schedules and classes, prices etc. Prices for the classes are not included.
If we put our heads together we can make plans to ride to Florida together in a vehicle and save on airline tickets. Pick you up on the way type thing. LOL. This could be fun.
Oh they prefer auto pay so it comes out on the 15th of every month. I am so loving this. I can afford to do it this way. Or guess you could save the money and then book but space may not be available.

natalieg 11-10-2010 01:06 PM

There would be "stripping" going on then!!! LOL

np3 11-10-2010 02:07 PM

I have to figure out how to convince my husband that I should travel to Florida for a cruise......when I live in California. I would so love to do this!!!!

If you really want to go you should! Most of my 15 cruises have been during hurricane season. Usually Sept to Nov. Never had a problem! The ships stay away from the storm, which does sometimes mean they go west rather than east, different ports etc. But they do still go somewhere. They don't want to damage their 500 million dollar ships! Millions of people cruise during hurricane season every year. If it was ever really that bad, they'd cancel and refund your money.

If the man from Publisher's Clearing House shows up on my front porch with flowers, balloons and a big check, I'll see you there!!!! Seriously, I'd love to do this one day!

Then again I have been on 100's of airplane flights and here I am. ROFL. No trains de-railed on me. Good to think about. cluck cluck cluck.(chicken)

Lockeb 11-10-2010 07:09 PM

Just like you I usually get the best rates...Sept-Nov...just got back from one last week...6 nights $319.00...could not resist...missed Jamaica but they took us to Mexico instead...love it...

wildyard 11-11-2010 10:11 AM

Ah man Debbie, this is the stuff of dreams for sure. But as my man, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith says it, for me it's a case of, "Dream On".
Maybe I'll write a song about y'all out there cruisin' and sewin' while I sit at home pinin' my heart away. LOL
I know it will be a lovely time and if there were any way possible, you know I'd be on there with you all.
Hugssss and wistful smiles, wildlinda

Oh you lucky lady I am green with envy. I live in the UK and so it is obviously not viable for me but I love Eleanor Burns. We have a quilt programme of hers each week and I have tried to record them all but sometimes the machine does not work. She just makes everything look so easy.
Enjoy your cruise - tell her we love her over here too.

Would love to do that, but we are signed up for a 20 day cruise through the Panama Canal in Sept/Oct. Leaves from Victoria and ends in Ft. Lauderdale. I dont think the budject or time would allow for another the same month lol. You have a wonderful time, my heart will be with you.

galvestonangel 11-11-2010 11:19 PM

That is prime Hurracane season, but ships will re-route around them. And it is always best to buy the trip insurance.

What kind of room did you get for that price and does it include the quilting part?

eiltcoq 11-12-2010 01:57 AM

Debbie, Where is the Cruise to? I think it would be fun to go on a Cruise with her. She's a riot. Do you have more information?
Is it on her website? Thanks for sharing the information. Eiltcoq.

linmid 11-12-2010 07:37 AM

Usually the price of the ticket includes the classes. But not this time, will just have to think about it.

debbieumphress 11-12-2010 05:01 PM

I put as much info as I had on the first page. Will look for the brochure again and let you know. They will post the price for the classes in June when final payment is due. Of course there are those who can wait till the last minute to get a better price.

wildyard 11-12-2010 05:15 PM

Wow, that's kinda sucky of them to make you commit to the cruise without a clue as to what the classes are going to cost. I'd need to know every expense up front so I could plan way ahead. Oh well, LOL, I'm just dreaming on this one so no worries for me.

dkabasketlady 11-12-2010 10:28 PM

Debbie, it sounds like a good time, but not in Hurricane season for me! I went on one for my 25th Wedding Anniversary at the height of hurricane season and missed a couple of our ports and stayed in the same place for two days(not our favorite port). Also at times especially at night I thought I was going to FALL out of the bed when we tried to go thru waves almost 20-30 ft. high. I've been on more cruises since, but in the spring time only for me. I'd love to go on a quilting cruise especially with Eleanor Burns, but can't commit until 2013(as I have three cruises already booked). My DH's budget only allows for one big vacation a year. He pays and I go, good arrangement, right? I hope a lot of members get to go on this with you!

annette1952 11-12-2010 11:14 PM

I would love to go but not in my budget. I do love Elenor Burns though. She is the best. For those of you that can go have a ton of fun & post some pics when you get back.

Qbee 11-20-2010 05:32 PM

OMGosh....how did I miss this post!! I am going to seriously think about this especially since that will be my first September as an "empty nester" so the whole "school starting back" will be kind of a downer...I mean they will be going off to college instead of just down the road :(

QuiltingHiker 12-17-2010 06:21 PM

I would love to do this one. Cape Canviale is only an hours drive south of me. I am doing a cruise just like this one in March with a large group of Red Hats. It was so easy to make the monthly payments instead of a lump sum.

Too bad I will be walking across Spain for my 55th birthday in Sept.

All who go enjoy!! I hope to get on a quilt cruise someday.
