I've gone a couple of times (April and May). They keep things manageable by requiring you to make an appointment.

Unlike other distributions I've seen mentioned here, this one (at least in my experience) has been focused on decorator fabrics -- drapery and upholstery samples. They're all really lovely, but nothing is bigger than a FQ. I picked up quite a number of pieces thinking to make purses or totes from it, but found that this sort of fabric tends to fray really easily and is a bit difficult to work with. [YMMV, of course.]

The folks there are very, very nice and most of the browsers are quite happy to share ideas for what to do with the fabric once you get it home.

If you're in the area (I drove over from Oakland), it's worth going to at least once!

I think all of us envy anyone in the area. Maybe more communities will do the same in the future. Lets hope anyhow.

Thanks for the info. Since I would really only use quilting cottons, this sounds like it wouldn't fit my needs. But I think it's a great resource for those who can use home dec. fabrics!

It's an agreement that whatever is picked up for free there is used and NOT resold for profit. Just an FYI :>
