There are some sprays for cotton at Michaels. I have used them on fabrics I didn't like and loved the effects.

This is a cool little demonstration. I had to do a bleach discharge to get a good color for a binding recently. My binding was just too bright for the rest of the quilt. It worked really well, except I should have stirred a little more- I got some variations in color from that. It fit in with the quilt, however, so my project was successful.

Doesn't this weaken the fabric?? Seems like it would be very harsh on on it.You have to be so careful just laundering a quilt so I don't think I want to "start" with this technique.Just wondering.

To each his own said the old woman who kissed the cow...
With all the wailing about the skyrocketting cost of fabric why would you spend good money on beautiful fabric and then bleach it and possibly weaken it to make it look...used, er, faded. I dunno, maybe I'm just an old fart today.
