I wouldn't care for it as wouldn't have rom for all the boxes.

That's a great idea, I need to do something in my quilting room so I can have more room!

Anyone watched the video that Eleanor Burns made with her son. They where hiding and storing the fabric everwhere! It was so funny to see it!

the method seems a little anal retentive. i would hate to have to move boxes when looking for the right color i need. also, what if you want to match some fabrics in order to make a quilt. gee whiz! you would have boxes all over the floor. looks like too much trouble to me. i put most of my fabrics that are more than a half of a yard in see-through boxes, and the extra large pieces, like for backings, have their own special place.

Great idea if you don't have much fabric!
Here is a peek at my studio.
Bolts are two deep -- and there are another 15 shelves like these
Filing cabinet would not work.

Many years working in government offices and warehouses taught me that cardboard boxes and envelopes are favorite homes for cockroaches - they love to eat the glue! Walmart, as well as office supply stores, sell similar plastic file storage containers. I recommend using the plastic if you really like this idea. The plastic costs a bit more, but will also outlast the cardboard by a long time.
