We often see on line fabric shops mentioned. It can be hard to find a particular ruler, scissors etc, especially for quilters like me who don't have many local resources.I remember trying to get info on a pattern & ruler not long ago when they took 3 wks to answer my e mail.
I keep a list of the good fabric stores & now adding good notion stores Do you have a fav? For service, price etc?
My fav,by far is
ihaveanotion.....just Google
She's simply great to deal with, honest & willing to help you.Her prices & specials are great.Take a look at her site or give her a call. You won't be sorry.

You have to put a dash in between a and notion. Like this a-notion
The forum won't allow competition urls.

What is the "parent store" of the forum? I had no idea it was tied to a retail site...

Someone on another thread mentioned http://www.jhittlesewing.com

I took a look and was very impressed with their variety and prices. I placed an order yesterday; they said shipping would be in ten days. I'll follow up here when I receive the order.

I've ordered from jhittlesewing. good prices but take a long time to ship. Don't know if I would order again.

plainpat 10-25-2010 01:52 AM

Maybe we'll get more favs today.Seems there are way more fav fabric shops. One thing I like about I Have A Notion is the personal service.A call or e mail is answered by the owner. That is so rare.

2 of my favorite places to buy notions on line are:
Nancy's notions and Clotilde's...both carry alot and have good prices.

Ditto here.. They have most everything at a good price. There is also peacemaker's and hancock fabric of paducah. Oh and connecting threads has tools and notions on sale often.

BellaBoo 10-25-2010 03:16 PM

I order from ihaveanotion.blogspot for high end tools/notions. I don't have to worry about customer service from Kelly. She will stand by the items she sells. I order from Connecting Threads and BaySide Quilting a lot. These three are the first place I browse when looking for notions and tools.

oops - sorry about the redundant message - my computer froze up, and I kept clicking on 'send'! Yikes!

I always seem to research and find new places for notions - depending on what I need. It's just that I usually need or want it NOW!

As promised, I'm following up on my earlier post. Today I received my order. I was surprised it came so fast, as they said it would ship in ten days. The order was complete, well packed and delivered by FedEx.

BTW, I ordered on 10/23, received 10/28. I'm very pleased.
