There's a Featherweight up for bid for $150.00 with only one day left and there are no bids. Looks good to me, I wonder what's wrong with it?

Maybe the shipping cost has deterred some people. I'd definitely watch it if you are interested. Even with the high shipping it's not a bad deal for the condition it looks to be in.

I'm not a Featherweight baby, I'm more geared to the larger machines, 15's, 201's etc. I just thought someone else may be interested. Featherweights seem to be a hot topic here

i'm sure people are watching it.

the smart people don't bid until the last few moments before the auction closes.

Shipping is way high, in my opinion.

It's probably the shipping.

The shipping is high. Also there are a lot of scratches on the bed and the Singer letters on the light have a big scratch. I bought mine at my local quilt shop and payed $275. The bad part is it has no attachments. The good part is he checked it all over and I could see what I was buying.
I may be able to pick up the attachments but I'm thinking I'll use my Janome for everything that isn't straight sewing anyway. I wouldn't buy one on line unless it looked like it was in perfect condition or if it was a super bargain. Never sure what you'll get.

Starting bid is toooo high, most waits til the end of time so they wont have to bid against anyone else to make the price higher. The shipping cost is outrageous too as they are lightweight to mail. If starting price was $30 then u will see lots of bidding on it...

He has a lot of other machines for sale too. Maybe someone will get a good deal.

Shipping cost is very high - should only be around US$25.00-$30.00 tops (likely even less).

I have shipped to locations in both US & Canada.

The weight of the machine, well buffered and wrapped for shipping is around 12 lbs. Carton is approx. 13" X 14" X 10" Check you local P/O for rates if you're interested and then contact seller to bargain a better ship rate - that's IMHO

Sorry, double post

I don't want one but I had been seeing them go for 200-250 and even with the $60.00 shipping that makes it $210 total. What you and others said about the shipping makes sense and also last minute bidding. I was just curious. I was never interested in the little machines--it took me a long time to use a laptop--always prefered the big, cumbersome desktops--you know, old dogs, new tricks?

frostiedee 09-07-2011 01:21 PM

check the cost of shipping sounds a little high

It looks like it's not in good shape, to many scratches and may have a little rust. The finishes is dull and the gold is almost gone. So, it's had lots of uses. Plus the case is ruined because someone taped it. Not a good deal.
