Finger/thumb pot holder

I saw these by Crafty Patti on YouTube last night. They looked pretty cute and handy. The title was How to make finger and thumb pot holders. I put this in resources in the hope that someone who is more computer savvy can do a direct link (moderator edit: here you go https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NcZ9E9Lm9I ). I did one this morning and I will do the other one this afternoon. It was easy and they would make great Christmas gifts for those that microwave a lot and protect the fingers from hot plates. I did change a bit as I used 2 layers of 80/20 batt since I didn't have thinsulate. I also added a row of top stitching on my half pieces before assembling. Here is picture of it on my table.

Here is a picture on my left hand while I try and take the picture with my right, which was a little tricky.

cute idea! and a great way to use up some scraps . . . but I still prefer the hand mitt.

nicely done

Those are so cute. They would make great stocking stuffers for Christmas. I found the you tube but couldn't get it to copy & paste over. If you do a web search on "Crafty Patty Finger Thumb Pot Holders" it will bring up the video.

2 pairs really quick to make

Those are really cute Tartan. I don't have enough strength in my hands/fingers, so I would have to adjust the pattern to go further up on my hands and thumb. Clever ideas, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, it's allways good to have another last minute gifty thing.

I bought one at our church bazaar and use it all the time. Just love it.

That is what I was thinking. Make them gray with either rick rack or tiny prairie points for “teeth”.

Really cool. Love your fabric.

Thanks for posting this. I have a pair but the dog chewed the thumb part off one of them. Now I can make another pair and also make some for Christmas gifts.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have a pair somewhat like this but bigger that I made, and I could never remember how to do it. I can't wait to make a new pair!
