Flower Head Pins
 

Just a little FYI, if you like those flower head pins head over
to Michael's. They come in 100 count or 500 count boxes. I
don't know the cost for the 100 count box, but the 500 count
box is $11.99 (at least in my area). PLUS you can usually get
them cheaper if you use a coupon.

Over the last week I have bought 4 boxes (total of 2000 pins).
I bought 2 boxes and used a 40% off coupon for the second box.
Than on Friday I went back and did the same thing over again.

My plan is to start using the pins instead of the paper clips for
my fabric storage (folded on comic boards).


Oh by the way the pins are in multi colors of red, white, blue,
orange, purple, green, and yellow.

By FAR the best deal on this type of straight pin I have ever found.

I think brand matters when it comes to flower head pins. Some are sharper than others. What brand are they?

Yes the brand makes the difference. I like Clover Fine Flower Head pins.

Just remember when using pins for fabric storage tuck the point of the pin back into the fabric to avoid stabbing yourself. Been there, done that.

On line it looks like its "Loops + Threads" brand, which appears to be their store brand but that doesn't necessarily mean its a bad thing as possibly one of the major mfgs can make these and package them for other stores..........just like other products are done.

I have used the same pins for a couple of years and have not had any troubles with them.I also use the 40% off coupon to purchase them

I have never found them to be sharp, no matter what brand :-(

I have used Dritz, Clover, and a couple other brands of flower head pins.

Quite frankly I can't a difference in ANY of the brands. With the pins I
got from Michael's at least I can select a color that will stand out against
the fabric. It wasn't always so easy when pinning yellow fabrics.

Make sure they say "heat proof" or "heat resistant". I bought some once, that melted if the iron got too close.
