First flower I saw was my favorite - TX bluebonnets. I've already printed it out. Thanks a bunch for sharing.

This is very pretty. I have patterns to machine embroider the state flower and bird and then I am going to applique the shape of the state on the next block. My next project after I finish this one I am doing, "The night before Christmas" It has 30 blocks. I have five more to go. Lots of embroidering but love it.

I made this quilt years ago for my daughter. When I put the blocks together I put Minnesota on the top that goes over the pillow.

Yes, and they are just gorgeous. Embroidery Library has quality designs, my favorite website for machine embroidery. They are very reasonable, especially if you watch for the sales. Sign up for their newsletter and you will see all the new designs as well as sales.

Shirl: I have never bought any embroidery patterns from anyone only Embroidery Library and they have some fantastic sales if you watch for them. That is where I got the states and flowers.

Justlucy: Here's another website that I use; it has some really great lace embroidery designs, designs of famous people, dog designs, designs suitable for quilting and more. Take a look! :D

Thank you Shirl, I did take a look. I am spoiled with the ones I use and find them to be the best priced.

embroideried the state flowers back in 1973 took me ten years to get the blocks together and then I hand quilted the quilt. quote=fabric lover]I stumbled upon this blog and thought some would like it.

This is wonderful!

I finished 'this' quilt top that my mom and her sister had started in the 1920s/30s as a HS home ec project in the 1960s. The main difference is that they had also crayoned the flowers and set the colors by ironing between two sheets of waxed paper. The muslin deteriorated by the late 80s/early 90s and I had it on my quilt rack when our house burned in 2000.

So now I can re-create this! I'm so excited!!!
