thanks for this. I'm currently piecing a flying geese quilt and am accumulating waste triangle for sure. this will be a good source when I want to use them.

applegramma 03-01-2011 12:41 PM

Thanks so much.
I'm also looking for a 'Card Trick' paper pieced pattern...anyone have the source for one or know a link where I may be able to locate it?

Thanks for your time and help!

applegramma-it wouldn't be that hard to graph out the card trick pattern to be paper pieced.

Stitchlady 03-01-2011 01:25 PM

I enrolled at a local quilt shop's Lady of the Lake BOM - it's all in Civil War repro fabrics and set on point. I am going to use a parchment or tea-dyed muslin instead of the red, but it's a beautiful combination of fabrics so far. You get ten fat eighths every month which make ten blocks.

I used Triangulations to print out the HST's and wonder of wonders, my HST's are actually coming out at consistent sizes and my blocks are coming out exactly 8" square. I can't believe it!

I use a full page of the smaller triangles and have six of each light/dark pair left over so I'll probably have a fancy border on mine when it's done.
