On Wednesday's posting someone listed freecycle.com as a source for obtaining quilting supplies.

I so horrible with names I can't remember who you were however, I can't thank you enough. Last night I posted a request for quilting material or batting. In return I post two trash bags of yarn, since I can no longer knit. The yarn found a new home and so far I've received a batch of batting and a former quilters stash.

Thank you so much for sharing this site with us. If you missed the original posting I hope you read mine because this site is amazing!!!!

I hope the original lady who posted freecycle.com reads this and PM's me.

our free cycle in this area isn't too active

Someone posted what it was, and as I was reading the posts several people asked what it was even after the original poster said what it was so I went ahead and copied and pasted it in a new topic so people would see the answer better. :) Glad that you got stuff from them that is fantastic.

I found the same thing in my area, but I'll check back again & the information is good to have (you never know-it could get better). Glad someone found some goodies and appreciated the posts!

I have tried to get on free cycle and never any luck. I have done a sign-up and everything, it's been a quite awhile since I tried but I finally gave up trying.

how do you find free cycle?

Ragann63 01-21-2011 08:58 PM

I love freecycle. Member here in Northern Kentucky and in Santa Monica when I lived in California. My mom is in Missouri too, mommy and pebbles, she didn't have any luck either.

Ora Lee,
Just go to freecycle.com and it asks you to enter your location and just follow the direction from there. I hope you have good luck finding what your looking for.

I use free cycle all the time, I recently posted womens business suits, I previously worked for a lawyer and had 28 suits, to my surprise, I received an email from the Womens Shelter in my area, they came and took all of them, including the pumps to go with the suits to give to the ladies going out on interviews. I was so happy I can actually help someone while cleaning out my closet.
I also posted "in need of seeds and plantings for my garden" you wouldn't believe what I received - actually, I won't know till spring! my garden will be filled.
