Frixion Pens and other quilt marking information

The article is informing but please read through the comments as well... lots of good info on other marking, etc. |
Great investigation and information!

Thanks for posting! I'm a paper crafter and have always understood that these markers were developed for paper, not fabric so have never used them. The bottom line is to test your marking tool EVERY time you use it, even if it is specifically designed for use on fabric and you have used it successfully on previous projects. Fabric dyes and finishes vary and sometimes you come up with a bad combo.

That's odd. I haven't had any problem with ghost marks when plain water was applied or washed in machine. I haven't had the marks reappear in cold after washing either. Sharon Schamber uses them on her quilts, hasn't stopped her from winning awards. I guess I wouldn't use them on any quilt I was entering in a national show so that means I'll use them on all my quilts. LOL

Interesting info but I don't plan to try them out. I have quilted for almost 30 years and I just like good old dependable white power chalk.

Thank you sew much for posting this article.

Me too....white chalk user.......
Interesting article.....sorry for those who have used this and now have marks...... I guess I don't quite understand why these pens are needed.....mystery notes? Or, secret messages? |
I really like using them but I haven't had any problem yet either. If I have a problem I will reconsider using them but for now I love them.

Thanks for all your investigation and posting the results.

I haven't had any reappearance after machine washing either . I am curious, the author of that article did not mention machine washing at all, did I miss it?
