I saw this on The Quilt Show also. The woman's name is Laura. I have not done much applique but like this idea & want to try it. I also like her tip of putting the bobbin & thread spool in a small bag as soon as you are finished with that part. Sew Very Easy has some nice tutorials also.

I love this for quilt binding. Use in the bobbin. Holds nice when folded over. Just watched an in-person demo at Nancy's Notions Spring Sewing weekend.
