Glue Basting-Source for metal tips set

1 Attachment(s)
I've been watching and saving threads on this and it seems that on many of the sources given to find the metal tips for the Elmer's glue bottles, they're listed as "no longer available". I was hoping to find them at a new Michaels store near me but no luck. Then I found them on Overstock.com:

http://www.overstock.com/Crafts-Sewi...7/product.html

I got one set and just ordered two more. This set does have the metal wires to clean out the tips, 4 diff size metal tips, 3 caps with tips for diff size bottles and 2 bottles. Haven't used it yet but it looks good. will try to attach a pic. They're $6.90 ea and I got free shipping both times.

Sorry, typo on cost, should be $6.98.

That is nifty. Thanks for the link. I just glue basted last night and managed to get a very thin bead of glue straight from the bottle. I held the bottle about 12 or so inches above the batting and drizzled a grid on the sections. I am loving this type of basting.

I had some metal tips but found they would not stay on the bottles even with tape. Now I just open the tip of a small Elmer's bottle a tiny bit (try to find just the right amount on a scrap first). I fill the tiny bottle from the big bottle when needed and that saves money from buying the tips, time to afix the tips and time to wash and clean them!

ave used the glue a lot but just found the delight of joining with curved seams by using it. Pin the curved seam, then one at a time replace each pin with glue (I run a little bead all along the seam), set with a warm iron and sew! No more pulling out pins as I go!

I also have the metal tips like Kitsie really a pain to clean out. By the time u finish the glue dries out and had to soak them to loosen the glue & then clean out Years ago found small plastic bottles & with small tips & same thing happened.

You might want to try Michael's again. The clerks there probably have no idea what they are or where they are located, but after visiting 3 Michaels I found them in the fabric paint section, then went back to the others and found them. I showed the clerk where they were. :-) (I used a lot of gas and spent a lot of time looking for them, but at least I got to use a 40% off coupon!)
