Great Price on a Janome Machine

After looking at Ebay from another board post for a sold antique sewing machine, I came across this machine. I have this machine and love it. Has great features for a reasonable price. I don't understand why the seller started the bid at such a low price but maybe someone can get a good deal. I paid about $225 four years ago for this machine.

Does this model have the capability of sewing without the foot pedal? Thanks for posting the link!

Looks like a good deal!

Oh I have that machine!!! It sews very pretty, but skips stitches when I FMQ! Donna, as far as I know, you do have to use the foot pedal. I got mine for around $50.

Here's a pic of it in use: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t178721.html

The one I use for FMQ (it also has a built-in "walking foot" which works great for straight lines too!) is my Pfaff. It's older but it FM's like I'm drawing on paper. Here's the same one on Ebay for a little more than the Janome. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pfaff-Synchr...#ht_500wt_1203
I'd pick the Pfaff over the Janome. I don't know how to use the cams on the Pfaff, so I do use the Janome for a lot- just not quilting!!

If you look at the thumbnail pics that accompant this listing, you will see pics of the foot pedal and cord. Many times people will use a stock photo in their listings. As for starting at a low price, many people do this. As the bids come in, the price will go up. Look at this listing towards the end of its time frame and see where the price has gone.

I have an older version of this machine, I paid 300.00 about 7 years ago from Sears. This machine is a "janome for sears" meaning the model was made for sale at only sears stores....its a sweet machine. I have an embroidery machine that is a Babylock which does not free motion quilt (an early model)
I use the Janome exclusivly for my free motion work. This is a good deal!

Thank you Ashley..I scoured the internet and couldn't find an answer to that question! I have grown to love sewing and quilting without the foot pedal..I don't think I will ever buy another machine if it doesn't have this option!

What is the price of this machine normally? I just checked and it is now listed for $190. something. I have a Bernina 930 and I don't know much about the Janome. I really don't need another machine, already have 2 FWS, plus my mother's old singer that was converted from tredle to elec. and a Singer Golden Touch, I think I need to sell the Golden Touch. I never use it.

They don't make them anymore. My understanding was that they were a Hancock Exclusive years ago. You can buy a refurbished one from Hancock here http://www.hancockfabrics.com/Janome...VVviewprod.htm for $10 more. I think it was replaced by the
Janome DC-2007 LE which is around $300
