I have pipe cleaners and 1 little straw. I'm going to try it. Looks like a great idea. Going to get some more straws and make 1 for each machine I use. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for posting this tip...will have to give it a try.

I've been using pipe cleaners for a few years now. I just take a long pipe cleaner and fold it in half and use it that way. When that area gets dirty, I just refold in another section. I'd be afraid that the pipe cleaner might get dis-lodged from the straw if it got caught on something inside the machine. I can get way inside but I also use the small vacuum attachment at least once a month or more often, depending on how much sewing I do.
