Harbor Freight
Yes, another "have to have it" find at our favorite non-quilting store!
The heater in my car is practically non-existant. I've been putting off getting it fixed, and I saw that HF has heaters that you plug into your cigarette lighter but at $20 each, I've put that off too. Well the temp dropped enough to talk me into it! And I came home and found the HF ad in the mailbox and on the front page was a coupon to get the heater for $11!! Hooray!! Anyway, I was looking through the rest of the paper, because I want to get one (or two) of those magnet bowls (which are $1 off too!) and went online to see if it would be better to order it... anyway, after looking around the site, I saw THIS: http://www.harborfreight.com/magneti...and-96533.html and I knew I had to share!!! |
That is cool. Wonder if they know how many quilters use their "non-quilting tools". I bought a small storage box that was just right for storing bobbins. Pd 1.99 for it. Lots cheaper than a "bobbin box" at a quilting store. Thanks for the link.

This is neat. I am going to be all over this as soon as I get feeling better. I love Harbor Freight, I use their blades all the time, love the magnetic bowl too. Thanks for sharing.

I actually bought the wrist magnet the same day that I bought my telescoping magnet wand (for picking pins up off the floor), and the magnet bowl. Spent well under $10.00 for the bunch (probably closer to $6 or $7). LOVE Harbor Freight!!!

I can't wait to get one. Can you get them in the store?
|
I went to the store last night. They were out of the telescoping magnets and the small (cheaper) magnet bowl. I got the larger one. I never found the wrist band.
I might have to try to make one of these. I can't imagine how handy this would be! And the car heater? It was a waste of time. I took it back. |
I have a magnetic wrist band that i never use. I have several magnetic pin holders but the bowl looks interesting. I think I need the head lamp because the lighting in my room is so bad. I have been meaning to order the blades but haven't done it yet. Thanks for sharing the link.

I am also a Harbor Freight fan and gets many things for quilting there, but a word of caution. I bought several of those magnetic bowls and let me tell you, those magnets are extremely STRONG. I was afraid to get them anywhere near my computerized sewing machine so gave them to my DH for his shop.
|
I like that. I may have to try making one.
|
Just make sure you keep your magnetic bowl away from the sewing machines. I was not bright enough to do that and now all decorative stitches are going backwards. My straight stitch still works as does the reverse.
