Has Anyone Signed Up for Summer Moon?
Fat Quarter Shop has it going for 10 months. I think I'm going to do it.

Darn, it looks so pretty, but looks like you need to purchase a book. Since I'm watching my budget for a few months (we'll be traveling), I'm just going to "lurk" to see what everyone is coming up with. Thanks for sharing the link!
|
I just skimmed over the info. Is the book necessary? It looks kinda fun.
|
I've had the book in my shopping cart and just ordered it.
The BOM kits are no longer available, which is fine by me. I'd rather use my own fabrics and have a unique quilt than to use the kit and have the same one as hundreds of other people. Besides, the book is $20, if I was getting the monthly kits, it would be a lot more. Samplers are growing on me. Most of the quilts I've done are big and doing the same block over and over can get boring. Thanks, SusieQOH, for the reminder! |
I ordered the book too. I also don't want to make the same one that everyone else is making so I have my own fabrics to play with.
|
I ordered the book from Amazon and will get it tomorrow. I also will use fabric from my stash. I don't see where we sign up?
|
sunrise- I'm not sure. I follow Taunja of Carried Away Quilting and that's how I found out.
|
Thx for the heads up. i love quilts where every block is different, and i am glad we can just purchase the patterns and use our stash!!!! I'm in.
|
I received my book yesterday evening and I love it! The block of the month is in the book with all the details. Each block has three different sizes and there are three blocks a month. My problem with this type of quilt is keeping up.
Is anybody else doing the cream and sugar bom? |
I just got my book yesterday too. I'm pumped!
I haven't heard of the other one you mentioned. I better not check it out :D Sunrise- I thought it was 9 blocks a month? I need to go back and check. The total number of blocks is 24. So I guess I'm wrong! |
No you are right. You can do how many you want. There are three blocks at any size you choose. If you do every one you would do nine blocks a month. there are three different sizes for each month.
You can make the three sizes each month but I have to ask, why would you want to? Hopefully I will find time to sew the bom that I am doing with Fat quarter. |
Thanks, sunrise. I get easily confused :D
|
I haven't done a sampler quilt in a very long time and I think this will be fun. But I don't think I want to make 9 blocks per month. That's all 3 sizes right? I'd probably get bored
with that. Battleaxe, I don't think there is a signup. Just go to the Youtube channel and follow along if you are interested. I think it's under Carrie Nelson or Fat Quarter shop. |
Alright! My book is ordered...
Can't wait to catch up! Kirsten |
Got the Book on Tuesday.
It looks like it uses 27 different fabrics and the background. Do you really make 9 blocks a month or 3? I am trying to convert these to be cutout with my accuquilt Go! Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! Kirsten |
Kirsten, I don't know if they can be cut from an Accuquilt- maybe some?
You can do 3 or 9 or really any amount I guess. Not sure what I'll do yet. I don't want the quilt too small but I don't know if I want to do 9 a month! :) |
SusieQOH! That's what I was thinking... 9 amonth?
|
Kirsten- I just thought of something.
Maybe make 3 of the largest size and then by the end we'd have a decent size quilt? I need to grab my book and read it more thoroughly. I just got it but it's already buried somewhere. I want to get moving on this! It sure looks like fun. |
I looked at the you tube quilt along and it didn't do a whole lot of explaining. I understand you need the book and don't expect the patterns measurements or anything, but did expect a little more.
|
Grace, the instructions are in the book.
|
Oh! A you tube channel would be great!
