This is a brilliant way to make loads of HST's very easily.

Never thought of making the pattern myself. You can also buy a roll of them already printed.

sewcrafty 02-19-2011 09:04 AM

Here's a site that you can print them off from.

I tried this method this afternoon. It was reasonably quick and easy to draw and I made 36 HST's in 15 mins total using this method.

I struggled and struggled with not a lot of success. Bought rulers, templates the plastic thingy to draw the sewing lines and cutting lines all to no avail, still tearing hair out. Then I heard about the CD Triangulations. Couldn't find it anywhere, so asked my LQS if they could order it. She did, and I am now a happy HST person. It was well worth the price of that CD.

Wow! Each day I think I've discovered all there is to read about quilting on the Internet. Boy am I wrong. 8-) Y'all are great in providing new sites to help make quilting easier.

Thanks!

I bought a Triangulations 3 CD. It has the grid for any size of triangles. Also has pieces for flying geese. I love it! I did a review of them on my blog, if you are interested in finding out about them. On the right hand side, scroll down until you find Triangulations, and click it.

I have the plastic templates like she showned. AFTER I sew them, I also use June Taylors half square ruler to resize.... Just the way I do I guess, never even.... :) I sure like the templates though, you can make 32 triangle squares at one time. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you ever so much This makes hst so fast which is so helpful when I have 6 elderly ladies waiting to design their block for me to sew it together. If they had to watch me draw a line on the light side of twenty four 2 7/8" squares I'd have a wheelchair revolt on my hands! :XD:
