Heads up - Crayola Washable Markers

Just in case you use these, Walmart has the fine line Crayola Washable Markers, Ultra-Clean, pack of 10 for under $2 in their back to school supplies.

I keep trying different tools to mark with and most seem to fail for me. I plan on giving these a try, a lot cheaper than a lot of the marking tools I have purchased in the past.

Oh, and I read somewhere these go out of stock really fast.

Any of you gals out there that will tell more about using the Crayola Washable markers. Do you use them primarily for marking your quilting designs? IF they got ironed . . . would they wash out? What about with using steam? Guess because there is color involved period . . . I am a big FRAIDY CAT!!!!!!!!!!

Stitchnripper 07-14-2015 11:59 AM

Madgie Rae - I have used them for marking. No ironing and no steam. Washed completely out of everything I used them on. But I tested them on scraps of the quilt first - had no problems. Why don't you do some tests with scraps and steam and with no steam. Then you will know and you won't need to be a Fraidy cat! $2 is a smal investment, right?

Thanks for the tip! (no pun intended) I do like the idea of the finer tip markers.
Are there any particular colors like red or blue, that would not be wise to use or are they all good for washing out?

Our WalMart had them for $1 for 10, but they only had the broad tip.

I just posted a few minutes ago to a similar thread in today's Daily Digest. Read the washing instructions on the back. If they say to wash with cold or hot water, the package should be fine. I would test them first just to make sure.
