Thank you for sharing this link! I was so very happy that my daughter came back from Afghanistan without receiving a Quilt of Valor :) Of course, my bee group in Florida made a quilt for her and each of the guys who were deployed with her - with the help of quilters on Quilting Board and Stashbusters! All of them were surprised and so very pleased with their quilt. Makes me want to dig out my RW&B material and make some more!!

Thanks for sharing the link. I guess you don't need to ask me why I have made 265 Quilts of Valor. I have been making them for over 6 years. I pray over each quilt before it leaves my hands. Like Josh, I pray the recipients a speedy recovery.

Recently, several of my quilts have gone to VA Hospitals state side. From the thank you notes from the medical staffs, it appears the beds in this one wing are made up with the QOV as the spread and then the quilt is given to the family. Reading between the lines indicates the soldier is there to die. Just hope the quilt comforts the family as well.

Quilting on the News

Did everyone see the segment on the NBC Nightly News about the soldier who saluted when he received his people heart and everyone thought he was unconscious? Well, turns out the people heart was pinned to a Quilt of Valor! So they did news story about the quild that made it. I say GOOD JOB to them and every quilter who has ever made one of the over 10,000 quilts that have been given to our soldiers and veterans of all wars. As a retired Air Force wife I salute all of you! Now....back to your machines ladies and gentlemen, there are more veterans out there. :)

I saw it and thought what an uplifting story. As a quilter it wad nice to see that some people appreciate them and I also salute them for their effort. It was nice to see a feel good story on the news for once.

I am proud to say, the members of my quilt guild made the quilt. Every quilter, in every guild, involved in this program deserves a thank you from our country for their dedication to this wonderful program. And, a special thanks to all our military for their service.
