I watched your tutorial. Thanks for sharing. What kind of marker do you use?? I've been struggling with finding the right marker.

Hi JT, I use a chalk marker that you can get from your local quilt shop. They are refillable and come in three colors; white, blue, and yellow. There is a new marker now that has just come out with in the past year that I have and like. It is like a pen--well more like a mechanical pencil called Sewline. The "lead" gives a fine line and is very easy to remove with you are ready for it to come off. I think it removes much better than the chalk. It also comes in different colors. Still looking for one to use on dark fabric that wont go away after handling it, hand quilting or mechine.

I do both. I don't have a quilting machine, when I machine quilt it is on my regular sewing machine. I have to roll up one side of the quilt to get it under the machine. But it works.

Anyone who hasn't gotten the friXion marker by pilot is missing out on a great product. You can find a 2 pack at Walgreen's for 3.99 and an 8 pack at office supply stores for 16.99. The 8pk has a lime green and a purple that show up fairly well on a dark brown. Haven't tried it on a black. It's great to mark stop sewing lines or to mark points or really anything. To get rid of the mark you touch it with and iron. It's amazing.
