Cotton Mill

Growing up , both of my parents and other family members worked in a cotton mill that took raw cotton and final product wa sheets and pillow cases. I remember mom coming home smelling of cotton, with chewing gum in her apron pocket. I never appreciated the work they did till I started quilting. Mind numbing and gruelling work!

Decidedly gruelling work....I respect every bolt I see now....Not realizing the threads were all glued together..first thing....
Rather amazing what they have to go thru to produce our love of fabric...

Amazing....as I watched I was thinking...and once this was done by hand. But with mans intelligence and ingenuity these mega machines now produce those amazing amounts of fabric!
