I hope I attach the link correctly. I came across this Youtube tutorial on joining the binding ends where they end up looking like any other seam in your binding. Does away with the bulk that is sometimes there where the 2 ends meet. Looks pretty easy! Anyone use this method?

Thank you for sharing this - I always struggle with joining my ends.

Yes, this is the method I use with one little difference. I leave my binding strips perpendicular to each other, like she had them at first, so there is a 45% angled seam.

This is a great video! Thanks for sharing!

Don't use this method usually, so I have bookmarked it to try sometime. Thanks for sharing with us.

They're very similar aren't they? Thanks for sharing!

I will try this! I've tried several other methods to end in disastrous results :-(

Thanks! I always end up with too much bulk. I will try this on my next binding.

When I finally decided to try this, I loved it and use it all the time now!

thanks!

Thank you for the video. That is much easier her way.

I sure wish I'd thought to ck. on here for this lesson yest. since I did this & struggled. I even tried to use the binding tool I bought but couldn't figure out how to use it. I ended up just joining the ends straight across because I was wasting so much time.

That's the way I do it. Some days it will come easy....some days I struggle, but it sure looks nice. Thanks for sharing :-D

Thanks Karen that was a great tutorial and easy to understand for dummies like me.

karenm36 04-19-2011 05:08 AM

If my quilt comes back in the mail today as planned I'll be trying this for the first time! Looking forward to it!

That is so great. I've seen it in writing and didn't have the patients to figure it out. I'm more a 'show me how' kinda girl. This make so much sense. Thanks!

IMHO - I use a different method that is easier for me to do. Try both ways. You just never know what will be easy for others.

They're very similar, aren't they?! Thanks for sharing. I did the other method tonight for the first time and I was amazed at how nice it looks. Next time I'll try this...same idea and method...just a little different approach. :-)
