Yep, the old tried & true method. If you have to make really long cords, there's a tool called the Spinster that you can use to do the twist. If you have a variable speed drill you can also chuck a cup hook and use that.

I saw a video where strips of material were twisted and braided also. So many different ways.

Thanks for the info. I've done that before, in my macrame days, but now I have some long cords from the acolyte robes from church that are losing their twist. I have them in my sewing room and can't figure out how to fix them. They may need to be chucked.
