Several friends have made rugs using this method. I made mug rugs using this method. Fun to do and use up scraps laying around. I am always taking a cup of tea in sewing room with me. I use the mug rug so I dont set the cup on my mat.

Waiting to see the answers to wendiq's question. I think I have seen bags made with the ropes, but how to you sew them together?

If you search on You Tube for James Chapman you will see a bunch of videos with ideas for projects.

Two friends have made cute purses using this technique. If I remember..they are zigzagged together. They used the pattern shown on video

Watch the video... she shows their patterns which use these ropes. (Aunties Two). You can get the patterns at any LYS.

Here's another video by the same lady from Aunties Two, showing a nice big basket you can make with the ropes.

Thank you ladies for all the tutorials. Once you get into the chosen video, its possible to go forever with related videos. Looks like an interesting place to get lost. Joyce
