I've been using this method and usually use just the black ink. Well, I tried one with color and then when the quilt was washed all the color washed away leaving me with the black. No idea why. I had heat set the ink with the iron so that wasn't it. Just do a trial one if you're using colored ink to make sure it's permanent. Also, I print out a copy on paper first so I know exactly where the printing is going to be and can put my fabric there. Makes beautiful labels!! bev.

I used to print out photographs, using a slightly different method - I would iron the fabric directly on to the freezer paper and feed it through the printer. <just cut the freezer paper the same size as a sheet of typing paper.> Note - towards the end of the tutorial, she has a blurb that says she found out all inks are not permanent. I found that out after I had done a EPP hexagon I spy quilt for my granddaughter and had 35 family pictures all transferred. I washed it and 34 of the pictures disappeared. I had to go back and redo the photos with Bubble Jet set used as a fixative.
