I don't feel guilty anymore. I did that to my foot few years back and it was so much better. I do like her suggestion of having the table against the wall. I used to have mine in the center of the room and since we moved and I don't have that space anymore, it sits against the wall and the big quilts don't fall.

I haven't tried this yet but I read somewhere that you can just use fingernail clippers to cut the plastic free motion foot on the lines so you can see better when quilting. I have a couple of these & will try it sometime with one of them

I bought an applique foot for my Janome that had an enclosed toe ( as opposed to being open toed) I loved the maneuverability of the foot but couldn't quite see what the machine was sewing so I cut yjr front piece off. I have a perfect applique foot now!
