WOW- that is a wonderful idea-I have plenty of orphan blocks, think I'll look into giving it a try.
Thanks Ditter & grma33:thumbup:

This would be a great way to "remember" quilts you have made. Make one more block. I was making pot holders from the extra block but the kitchen is full. Now I can move on to canvas for the sewing room!!

Good to see you here Ditter, thanks for the link.

Love this idea. I've seen similar ones using foam core board, but i think this would be nicer/easier to hang. :)

Love this idea. Thanks for sharing. I do have some extra blocks and these would look great in the sewing rooms. I had thought of painting various quilt patterns onto canvas but I like using the extra blocks so much more.

Thanks for sharing - good views on how to make the corners and backing look professional.

Ditter, love the idea. May have to make a few for my "nest".

cactusmomma 01-12-2013 11:39 AM

Thanks Ditter. I've been thinking of doing some blocks and framing them. This is another good idea.

Sewfine 01-12-2013 03:55 PM

That is an awesome idea. Better Homes and Garden have a site for this type of art also, but their's is with whole cloth (which is how I did my bathroom pictures). Thanks for sharing.

I've done this before. Bought 4 12" cork tiles and attached blocks to them. Hung them on the wall and used them to to display pics of the fur babies. When I moved, I meant to replace them with different blocks but have yet to do it.

My granddaughter is a Saints fan so I covered a canvas w/Saints fabric...Came out okay, but this is a fantastic idea for a grouping. Thanks.
