bet you never thought of doing this with all those scraps that keep multiplying in our stash

I did not make this I just saw it on a blog....lol I like my scraps too much to do that..but thought it was clever and "different"

Cute - but that requires longish strips - I have snips and bits

Not only is the doll adorable, but what a great way to use up those little strips :D:D:D

Someone has entirely too much time on their hands. I like my scraps to serve a purpose....like a quilt maybe....

This does serve a purpose - rub a little catnip on it and it will keep your cat busy for hours....

Well, if I had a cat it would be chased for hours by two very large dogs. And if I had time to cut those narrow strips I would also have time to sew them together into something I would find truly usable, like a quilt for my dogs.

That is cute! I'm saving my selvages for a string quilt, and anything thinner than 1/2 inch is going to become one of those wrapped clothesline bags ( like a 'bali' bag..) I whipped up a coaster in about 5 mins yesterday. Good by ugly coaster!

I recently saw one of these dolls and thought it would be a neat way to use some of the polyester fabric I inherited from my grandmother.

Actually I see these for sale at the renesiance fesivel, they mean/represent something I just can't remember what,I will look when I go this fall.

barbbrad 09-14-2010 05:03 AM

that is cute and a very good idea!!!

I can see the appeal to some, but it's not my taste. Just because you can do a thing doesn't mean you should do it. Not being snarky here, but I just don't see the point.

I used to make a doll almost like this.

ljptexas 09-15-2010 05:07 AM

I got my first HAA, HAA of the day. Pretty neat...

What a great idea! My extra fabric is just very tiny. A few years ago, I used my little pieces to make rag doll, and their clothes.
