How to use your show ribbons in a quilt

I have seen this question asked multiple times on the QB. I saw this idea today and wanted to share

Great idea. My cousin lives in Florida and made hers into a window treatment valance in her sewing room.

Great looking quilt BUT I think show ribbon are best used in something that is for display only in my opinion. The ones I have I don't know what the fabric is or if they are colour fast. I think a window valance sounds like a good idea or a wallhanging.

Clever idea. You could always sew a snap on the back, to remove the "flowers" for washing.

great timing, as I have been commissioned to do another one

Interesting but they aren't washable.

That looks pretty but seems impractical. I don't think the medallions would not hold up very well. They just aren't washable. I made a quilt for my sewing room that I pin any ribbons or quilt pins to. At a later date they can be removed and the quilt can be used.

Really clever and pretty!

at our Guild show there was a young woman that had a similar quilt from her horse sow ribbons--it was very nice and a wonderful way to use ribbons that otherwise would have been sitting in a box most likely. I doubt she was envisioning it on her bed due to the ribbon fabric and the rosettes, but what a great display method!

That looks amazing but I think I'd stick to a wall hanging. I'm 'over' wanting to display my dog show ribbons in a quilt They are still sitting in a box. :D I am considering getting a big glass jar and putting them in that for display. As others have mentioned, the fabric of these ribbons is NOT something that would withstand any washing.
