Interesting tutes

I came across this while checking out quilt festivals. I am interested in the ideal seam guide and gauge (second video). Has anyone used these products? How did you like them? Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Bought the ideal seam guide and used it once. Got to tell myself to quit buying gadgets!

I haven't used those products so can't comment on them. They look bulky and I wouldn't like extra rulers laying on the side of machine area.

Are you looking for the perfect 1/4 inch seam? If you are having problems with seams, I use the index card method to check allowances and adjust accordingly. You can also place of tape on the needle plate area to help. Easy to remove and replace as needed. Plus keep your right index finger along the fabric and help guide the fabric right into the needle plate area.

Mark a piece of scrap muslin with the desired seam allowance and practice hitting the line with stitching. It gets easier. Hope that helps!

I have the seam guide & I don't like it. If you stitch any other width of a seam, you must remove it. While stitching at 1/4 inch, I found it was bulky &just didn't feel comfortable.

Thank you for your help. I appreciate it. It looks like I won't be spending money on this gadget.

I use the index card to find the 1/4" seam and blue painters tape to extend the line so I can line up long seams.

It looks pretty neat. BUT how much would I really use it? This might be great for appliqué folks. or those one block wonder type blocks where you have to match up the pattern on the fabric.

Thank you. I am going to try the index card and painter's tape ideas.
