I got the email but it takes me to a video and then a list of classes with their prices. How to you access the free class option. Thanks. It's probably something I am missing - but I am just not seeing it. Thanks for any help.

The same thing happened to me. Were we too late?

AUQuilter 06-29-2016 05:25 AM

The "Get My Class" button is in email. You will need a Craftsy account and then hit classes, then the type of class, quilting, sewing.... and they come up free. Thanks so much, wbfrog, for posting. My Joann emails go to an email that I don't open more than once a week. Would have missed this. Signed up for FMQ class! Just hope I catch on quickly.

Mine don't come up free....maybe because I have purchased Craftsy classes in the past? It does say try your "first" Craftsy class for free....

I have first search for all the free classes that Craftsy has available put them in my card. I found out about Jacquie Gering from my quilt guild using the walking foot, the class I got free was with Edyta Sitar which was $39.99. Start looking at sections Sewing/Quilting and I am sure something will catch your eye. I love Craftsy another secret if you place things you like in the wish list, craftsy will send you a coupon for $19.99.

I got to the page where it offered the class I want for free but when I checked in my cart, I was charged $36. for the class. It would not let me proceed without entering credit card information.

I didn't have any luck today getting my free class. I think the 48 hour clock started way before the email was sent out. Bad way of doing business.

Sailorwoman 06-29-2016 08:40 AM

I just filled out the information required to check-out and I was charged for the class.

I didn't get an email, but I entered JoAnns and Craftsy in the search engine and tons of free classes showed up to choose from. I am already enrolled in Craftsy, so that might have made it easier. I just put the class I wanted in my cart, and "enrolled". No charges.

I am so glad I saw this thread. I did get the email but I thought the free class only came with new membership. I was wrong.
If you have the email, click the free class button, sign in to your Craftsy account, and then the classes should be listed as " free". It worked for me!

My first few tries didn't work but just did it again - signing in immediately and up popped the free classes. Thanks to everyone who helped. A $39.99 class for free.

I contacted Craftsy and told them what had happened. They are refunding my payment and honouring their offer. Love to deal with companies like this.

jokir44 06-30-2016 11:47 AM

I got my class last night. No email but a google search brought it up. All the classes came up free. I saw a thread from 2014 giving free classes too. Now I wonder how often it is done?

Onebyone 07-01-2016 05:00 AM

I am enrolled in every class I'm interested in. The downside of a free is when you don't need it. LOL

brandeesmom 07-01-2016 02:48 PM

Thanks for posting, I was able to get a free class after checking my emails!
