Joining the 2 Binding Ends With Machine Stitching...A Tutorial

I had never seen this technique before, maybe some of you have already. Instead of joining the 2 ends of the finished binding with hand stitching, the two ends are joined together with the machine and they fit perfectly. I know...it's kinda confusing. Here's the tute I found by, "The Dread Pirate Rogers." (Don'tcha just love the name?) http://piraterodgers.com/tutorials/e...tions%20v2.pdf

That's just how I do it.

I've been doing my bindings using Shelley's method of bias binding and joining the ends for years. It's only a little confusing the first time you do it. After that it's a piece of cake.

That's the only way I use for my binding.

This tutorial is the best.

I use this tutorial. It's very similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BT1pl_IolE

I use the tutorial that cashs_mom mentioned. Perfect binding joins every time. I've never heard of doing it by hand stitching, but I went through lots of methods before finding that video.

I do it that way too but going to keep the instructions because for some reason as I do it I forever get it backwards. (Which drives me crazy because even though this is the only way I do it, I get it wrong the first time.....)

A member of this board did a tutorial on this a while back. It is in the tutorial section.

I've done mine that way for quite a number of years.
