Kind of a cool idea for quilt design...

I saw this on Pinterest and it led me to Sew Mama Sew. I've been admiring these types of modern samplers and may try this:

Very modern sampler. Not like the ones our Grandmothers stitched up.

Very cool! You know, you wouldn't even have to make it modern, we could use different sizes of classic blocks and the fabrics we use would really set the tone between modern or retro classic looks. It would would be a great way to use up orphan blocks and gives ideas on how to connect different size blocks. Very, very good idea!

Now that's really scrappy. I do like the blank layout. I saved that one to play with later.

Wow! That is a bright quilt! I agree with SuziSew, it would be a great way to use orphan blocks.

I have a lot of samplers that are just going to be a blend of anything and everything. My version of a crazy sampler.

Thanks for reminding me of that website. I had seen their method and then lost the website. After she explains that you keep all the designs in multiples of 2 inches, it makes sense how you can combine all these different sizes. Can't wait to play with this. It should be fun.

Maybe we could start a group here and work on this together?

I have been collecting Kaffe Fassett fabrics to do a sampler quilt. I saw one at Painted Pony 'N Quilts (Houston area) last year that was spectacular.

This looks like a great way to plan it.

Thanks for posting the website!
