That was so good! The passion the box held for so many years is amazing. The woman who found it felt that passion drawing her to it.

Thank you for posting this. I've made several of her cigar box quilts, and never knew the story behind them.

I can truly relate to finding treasures like this at auctions. Years ago my husband and I frequented antique auctions and I always found myself bidding on old sewing boxes. I would look thru these and wonder what type of sewing the previous owner did. Was she a mom mending clothing many times over, was she a quilter? Thank you for posting this video. It brought back a flood of many wonderful memories.

Thanks for posting. Very enjoyable and bittersweet. Wouldn’t it be great if some of gladys’ relatives came forward. I know a long shot but still... There are stories to tell. I wish my trade machines and featherweights could tell me
about their history.

Loved hearing the story.

Love the story. I am an avid Estate Sale shopper and I love the old sewing items and certainly I wonder who had and loved them.

Lovely story. Was delighted to find out the Cigar Box happened in Kansas. It couldn't have been a more authentic spot.

That was sweet. I grew up in Leavenworth and mention of it drew me right in. As a I child I kept some treasures in a cigar box, too, half a century later. It's just wonderful to encounter someone who appreciated the little stories behind these simple objects enough to tell us about them.

With all of our modern day conveniences, etc. it is so refreshing to see treasures from a much simpler time.
