Don'tcha just love the resourcefulness of we quilters? I've long drooled over those way-too-pricey sewing tables and while I'm happy to have my plexi extension table, this goes way past that - and for a mere fraction of the cost.

That was very interesing. I may have to invest in one of those tables to take to my retreat. I like the idea that the height is adjustable. I have a table currently that my machinist husband cut the legs down to the right height. The only question I have about the foam is how does she get to her bobbincase?

Otherwise it creates alot of static from the fabric moving around (at least the clear vinyl shower curtain that I used does. I don't know if the clear vinyl off a large roll would do the same). I love my sewing table now. |
I have a top loading bobbin so no problem. I love the top loading, no problems with it and so easy to change.

I went to a garage sale and found an old gate leg table that when opened gives me plenty of room. I might try the foam build up, that would make it even easier for sewing anything.
You all have great ieas. |

I watched the video and looks like a great idea. However my question is about the folding table. I have had tables like this in the past and when I start sewing on my machine it just shakes and wobbles all over the place, feels like it will come crashing down any moment. Any thoughts on this problem or cures or whatever? LOL! Thanks in advance fellow quilters!!

Personally, I like a really sturdy table and, while I did wonder some about that, I was quite taken with her resourcefulness on using the foam, vinyl, etc. - a process that could be used on any surface.
I'd opt for a more substantial table myself, though. |
