I bought a ham and sausage a long time ago when Hancock Fabrics had a 50% off all notion sale. The manager said they were notions! I use them much more then I thought I would. They aren't very pretty, red plaid, but excellent quality.

It's one of those things that you might be able to do without but once you have it you will use it a lot!

My ham split years ago and I was moaning that fact and my husband came up with a great substitute. He went to his drawer and pulled out a brand new tub sock and handed it to me. He proceeded to grab my rice and we poured about a 4 cups of rice in it then tied a knot. I can form it to what I want whether it is a ham or a sausage. I can smash it really flat or plump it up. I had a home ec teacher see it and she was very excited as it was so adaptable.

Ok ladies help me out here what do you use them for?

ZigZagSewing 03-31-2014 08:25 AM

I used the ham while doing alterations (have stopped that ). Will continue to use both when I'm able to do more "Fun" stuff. The link is really informative. Thanks. ZigZagSewing
