Nice technique! love this tutorial. simple, with fabric sizes. Good idea ! |
so glad you posted a link to this, I think it is great, especially for those who do not own a serger to finish the edges
we call them "hot dog" pillowcases... cause' the rolled fabric is like it's stuffed in a roll!!!
I've made these and put names on the border for kids.... |
Nice idea...makes me want to make pillow cases to match all my quilts....Thanks for sharing....
what is the quilts for veterans?
This is the way I make mine too, Love this pattern & it's so easy!
I've made a dozen of these-so easy, and quick. Love this!
Fantastic!! Love it!
Thanks for the great link...I think that EVEN I can do that!! LOL!
I've used this method for a few years making pillowcases for my grandchildren for BDs, holidays, or just because! Very easy and fast! Funny, I've never made any for myself!
One thing I would like to add to this is: I always think of a pillowcase as the border being the bottom of the case and the body being the top. If you're using directional fabric either in the body or border have the fabric upside down when facing you.
I made 50 for the million pillowcase challenge on the web, I have a serger so I didn't do the french seam. I have started making ones for each holiday...too cute
Me, too. I've been teaching this as part of my "Beginning Sewing" class for the past few years, as it gives my students a finished project after the second class. They love it and can't believe they've already made something that looks good!
I also have been making these for bridal shower gifts - make a set for 4 major holidays - Christmas, Easter, 4th of July and either Halloween or Thanksgiving. My grandnieces just love them! |
Thank you so very much. I had seen that before but couldn't find it again when I wanted to make one. It's saved now!
Nice link-it is a super easy way to make a pillowcase.
I have made quite a few and love them, I make them for my DGS.When I make them a quilt I will make pillowcases and matching sheets
I've made several for Quilts of Valor. They are so easy to make!
Thanks for posting this. I have had people tell me how to do it but I have to see it....now I can make matching cases for the quilts.
I discovered this site several weeks ago & have been making pillow cases as gifts ever since. So simple yet very professional looking. Quick & easy, just what I like!
