THIS NEEDS TO BE A PAPER PIECED PROJECT! OMG! Why would he do all this work and try and keep the measurements exact, when if paper pieced...you are right on the line. You can see how some of the block are off, pieces not meeting from block to block on his project. Beautiful pattern in this quilt. I would do it, but only after I ran piecing paper through my printer. So much faster and lot more accurate.

The block is fun. The young man is obviously enjoying himself while teaching us a new trick. He lost me a couple of times with the math, but if I slow down it really isn't so confusing. Think I'll definitely try the Burst Block, the possibilities using different colors intrigues me. This would be a great project for the new member who inquired about layer cakes as it shows what amazing things you can do with some ten inch squares. Thanks for sharing the link.

You definitely make a valid point, the math could make a total disaster if you didn't get it right. Thanks!

I agree with making it via paper piecing would be so much easier. But then having a couple ways to get the same/similar results is always a good thing.
