Marking a quilt top for machine quilting

I watched this video this morning and was impressed with how clear and thorough it was.
My apologies if this has been posted before.

Very timely!!! Thanks. I'm working on a Christmas quilt and I have 3" black borders. I've been thinking of doing snowmen or holly or something like that. It all seems hard though.

New to me. I don't have time to view it all now, I am at work, but I book marked it for later! Thanks!

After watching that excellent link there were also a couple more I watched. I have a midarm and got tired of having to readjust and advance, adjusting those 3 bars. One of these ladies only attaches the backing, floats the batting and the top. This makes a lot of sense. Does anyone here do it this way?

Thanks for that great link. She had a lot of useful information. I have used some of her same techniques in the past & need to do them more often.
