I'm working on a quilt, matching up points, and decided to make a tute on my blog to show how I did it because new quilters may have trouble until they figure it out...

Thanks for the tute Kara. I just noticed you have a few tutes that will help me as well. Hugs, Jean

Love your tutes! My opinion, though, is that I don't sew over pins 'cause hitting one will surely damage the needle and possibly throw the machine out of kilter. For me, close is good!

Thank you!

Thank you. How smart are you! Think this will help me immensely
I've been practicing blocks trying to gain some skills and this will help. I have also found that using the baste stitch on my machine lets me try before I stitch and have to use the dreaded seam ripper. Thanks again for sharing.

thanks!

Oh, Falcon, I LOVE your avatar...can you provide a larger picture of it? Is it a wool applique? Gorgeous!

DonnaRae 01-28-2011 10:23 AM

I have been quilting for quite some years now and still have problems with points. I think it is called patience! LOL

Wow your machine realy does not like pins!

kwilter.
Sorry I can't work out how to make a larger picture.
My Avatar is an Australian wildflowers wall hanging.
Hand application and machine quilted.
