Midwest barn quilts

I know there's been some interest here on the board about barn quilts. Here's a site I stumbled onto that showcases them from several Midwestern states. Enjoy & be inspired!

I took a trip to Vermont last week-end. (I'm from New Jersey) Every time I passed a barn I looked for a barn quilt and didn't see one. I was very disappointed. In my next life, I'll have a barn and that's the first thing I'd do. LOL

We have a small, barn-shaped shed in our backyard & DH doesn't know it yet but I'm pretty sure it's going to get a quilt on it... maybe a mini? Are there mini barn quilts? LOL! I've never seen a barn quilt either & considering I live in the wilds of western WI (where there's a barn every 10 feet, it seems like!), you'd think I'd be surrounded by them.

Hi Rebecca, "Shawano and Oconto county have quite a few. In fact they even have mapsfor them. They just look so cool when you see one.

Barn Quilts

I am thinking seriously about making a barn quilt for the end of my home on the outside. But iI m thinking about getting a "Cheeter Panel" and decopage it to a pices of plywood 4X4. Sealing it with polyurthene. We have used poly on several pies of outdoor furnite and it has held up very well. Has anyone ever done this? May I will set a new trend down our way. Wow, thanks for sharing! If I had a barn, it would definitely have a quilt!
