Needle threader
QIAD is offering a new threader for fine needles from sewline....has anyone here tried it? I have tried several, none work! Just wondering if I should try again....
|
Clover didn't work? I have watched an applique class on craftsy and she uses clover needle threader.

Not for me...I have clover, and other one - name escapes me now....but when using a #11 straw needle, or even a #10 quilting, the eye is narrower and a tighter oval than the plunger.......I may invest in this one, as it is from sewline(sue Daley)epp guru, imho...I use her sewline glue pen and love it!

Try using the Tulip brand needles. I know they cost a little more, but worth it. I use the #11 Milliners Straw needle in a burnt orange colored box. The eye is larger. Plus, they do not bend as much as other brands.
|
I went to the qiad website and couldn't find a sewline needle threader. I would really like to find one that I could use to thread the John James size 11 milliner needles.
|
Oops. I must not have spelled it correctly. I found it.

yes, that's the brand I have...I ordered it...will let all know how/if it works! |
I purchased one a few years ago and love it. I have enjoyed my other sewline tools also.
|
Did not like the clover but love the "Bohn" threader.
|
I like the Bohin threader a lot - it has a side for larger needle and the other side for the smaller needles. I also have the Clover threader, got it first, and really liked it, but it didn't work well on the smaller needles. The one from Sewline has mixed reviews on Amazon - so all you can do is try it out and see if it works for you.

I like the needle beetle threader. It works great and cost $5. I have the Bohn, Clover and a few generics but none work for each needle and both quit working after awhile. I never could get the Sewline to work right. I gave up.

yngldy where do you purchase Tulip brand needles? I am always looking for needles that don't bend as I constantly bend them.
|
I love the Bohn threader. It is super easy to use.

I LOOKED AT IT.....the discovered a "cartidge" needs to be replaced in it for $7.99! NOT FOR ME. I too, purchased the Clover threader...three for family before finding out it ONLY TAKES CLOVER NEEDLES...what a bummer. LOVE sewline products...but not falling for the buy cartridges ploy. I will look into the Bohn.

I don't recall which table top threader I had purchased but guessing clover as it was very reasonably priced. However, it broke after 6-12 uses. I do find, if you are using Roxanne needles, their handheld threaders work best with their needles. I've tried other handheld threaders with their needles with little to no luck. So for me, for any handsewing, I'll stick with my Roxanne needles and their threaders.

cheap alternative https://www.amazon.com/Silver-Needle...eedle+threader
What's funny is if you read some of the reviews, you will come across one that the reviewer gave a one...sounds awful but if you read the text of the reviews, it is actually a positive review. I have seen a few of these where it appears the reviewer interprets a one rating as a positive review... |
