My thoughts also.

I have to agree with you but then I have never had a problem with binding the usual way, I don't mind mitered corners nor do I mind sewing the tails together. Guess I am used to that way and it is hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you for posting a different method.

I've bookmarked it for future reference. Thank you.

Honestly, lol, It just looks like too much work . I wasn't half way thru reading and trying to understand the instructions (even with the pics) and my eye was starting to twitch. I love!! new, easy and maybe better ideas, But that just does not seem something for me. Good luck to those who try it!

I've done my binding this way for years. I like it better than folding the corners for 2 reasons. First my corners turn out more square and not so rounded and second I don't have to go back and sew the edges when I'm sewing the binding.

That is interesting. I don't understand why the excess backing a batting was left on. It seems to me to be an excellent opportunity to cut something you don't want to leading to a horribly tragic day and a reason to drink.

I agree. I've looked at it twice on two separate days to make sure I wasn't missing something! Looks horribly complicated, but I guess I've been lucky, my corners come out well and I lay out my binding before sewing so I don't wind up with a seam on the corner.
