Found this great website: www.dickblick.com. 500 sheets for $3.45 but shipping is $6.95 but still 500 sheets will last a v-e-r-y long time. Just right to go thru printer but not more than 3 or 4 at a time. Very fast delivery too.

Dick Blick (at least the retail stores) also offer a good selection of products for dyeing and art quilts.

Thanks I have been looking for news print. Ordered 2 reams, they were on sale today for $3.45-- still had to pay the same shipping = 6.95

What do you use this for???? Guess I have not had a need yet!

I found newsprint at the Northern Tool store in Houston. I was surprised to see it there.

Thanks!

It is used for paper piecing. Light enough to tear away well.

Sometimes at your local newspaper ( if you live in a smallish town) they cut the rolls of paper off, if it is too wide for some jobs. They wil give away or charge very little for it. It works great for so many things, including kids on a day when you need a quilting break. Just add crayons or markers!

Staples has newsprint but the size is always 1/2" too wide for my printer. I bought a ream of transparent vellum and that will last me for decades. It pulls away from the stitches clean with no bits left behind. If you find a good sale on lightweight transparent vellum online get it. It is not scrapbooking vellum you find in the stores.
