So beautiful! I would love to have one in my bedroom b/c they look so peaceful and I think about by-gone days when I look at them (not that I'm THAT old but hope you get my drift ha)
Thanks!

Darn, what a tear-jerker that is, but not sad tears, tender loving tears. What a story.

I love all the pics of your beautiful Red Eye!!!!! SOOOO glad she made it back into your family. Does she have a name? I may have missed it in the story.
I have a Red Eye in perfect condition too that I got from a lady in Calgary, Canada. It was made in 1914 and is the kind that the feet are the back clamp type.
I wonder if you know the answer to a question I have. IF I ever am able to find a cabinet for mine (and she is motorized from when she was made - original motor), could I just not plug in the motor and put a belt on her down to the wheel on the treadle and have her work?
BTW I have named her Canadian Rose. I posted a pic a while back but she didn't have a name then. She purrs like a kitten when she sews.
I know your joy! I am in heaven with mine and have set my other machines aside for Canadian Rose.

What a wonderful thing to have happen, You must have felt truly blessed when she asked if you wanted it. It's a beautiful machine, I'm glad it works so well. Terrific story to pass down to your children.

You should print up what you wrote, and add the pictures and keep it in one of the drawers of the machine so it's history won't be lost.
